Default Brian Oberlin in Julian, CA 4/8 - 12, 2015

Portlander Brian Oberlin is coming this April as the lead mandolin instructor at the annual Julian Family "Fiddle" Camp. While fiddle tunes are the common denominator, the Camp provides instruction for fiddlers, mandolin players, guitarists and old-time banjo players. All levels and ages are welcome, with the event held just outside of Julian, CA at Camp Cedar Glen - a full-service (i.e., room & board) rural family retreat center (bunks provided, room/space for RVs and/or tents).

Brian, I suggest the Chile Verde at El Zarape (on Park Blvd) to fuel your supercharged expedition! Wish I still lived in San Diego to take advantage of this...

I wish i could go! Maybe next year.

If anyone from the camp ends up in San diego, give me a shout. I love in North park and there's a lot if breweries and great food like El Zarape. I like city tacos better though :-)

Dj... are you in San Diego?

I went to Brian's River of the West camp last summer and both he and the camp are fantastic! He is such an awesome mandolin player and a super guy. I wish I could go to this one and hoping to make ROW 2015.

If you're near the area or thinking about going don't miss the chance to see and learn from him.

Glad to hear Brian is coming to SD. Most like can't make it to the camp but hopefully at least for some of the concerts.

mbruno - Glad to see another cafe member so close to me. I'm in Normal Heights just off Adams. Maybe we need to plan a local Mandolin Cafe meet and greet Shoot me a PM.

I used to be. I lived in Normal Heights from mid-2003 to the beginning of 2007. A good place/time for mandolin, as there were at least 3 mandolin players within walking distance!
