New John S. Kinnard Tenor Guitar
This is a new tenor guitar built for KinnardUkes by John S. Kinnard out of Fallbrook California.
East Indian Rosewood with Bear Claw Sitka top.
Incorporates a custom sound port
Slotted headstock with Gotoh tuning machines
22 7/8 scale with 1-1/2" nut
This was built as part of a project called the Tenor/Tenor consisting of a tenor ukulele with a matching tenor guitar. The idea is to attract uke players that want to play a steel string guitar- by using "Chicago Tuning" they can basically use the same fingerings as on a uke and can instantly begin to play. Our goal on this TG ws to get a deep, full tone and we were not disappointed.
If you would like to see a build thread on it and more pictures go to KinnardUkes.com and click on the Tenor/Tenor page.

Excellent!
The pathway you describe is pretty much how I came to the Tenor

Re: New John S. Kinnard Tenor Guitar
A friend of mine has a Kinnard uke and it's wonderful. I'll bet these are great as well.

Re: New John S. Kinnard Tenor Guitar
Sorry to dredge up an old thread, but I just found it and I wanted to post a sound sample Kevin made for the tenor guitar John Kinnard built for me after he built the one in this post. My tenor guitar has padauk back and sides and a bearclaw sitka spruce top.
