    Thumbs up Norman Blake Concert, April 24, 2015

    Norman Blake, will be performing on Friday, April 24th at 7:30 pm in downtown Calhoun, GA at the Harris Arts Center (212 S. Wall Street, Calhoun, GA). Tickets are $25.

    The performance is again part of the Georgia String Band Festival (contest) weekend which takes place on Saturday, April 25. Cash prizes for contestants in several categories: banjo, singing, fiddle, string band, etc.

    thank you for that information. I am a fan of Norman & Nancy Blake. I got to see them perform along with James Bryan a couple years ago and it was a real treat.

    He's playing a different guitar in the studio than on the cover of the album. Both have slotted pegheads. What are they?

    thanks for posting that video. I have not seen it before and certainly did enjoy it. I listen to Norman Blake almost everyday, guitar, fiddle, mandolin and dobro. he is a master of them all. Nancy Blake is a wonderful musician also.

    Good one; whatever that guitar is, it is just amazing.

    the information on the album cover says: Norman plays a 2004 martin 000-28b Norman Blake signature edition guitar on "the new dawning day" and "farewell Francisco Madero" and Norman plays a 1928 martin 00-45 on all other tunes.
