I've used his site many times to learn some fiddle tunes. He is a very good teacher. Great site!

I dig the strap configuration as well...
Despite the high cost of living, it still remains popular...

Baron is a member here and you might say he grew up here, since he started here as a teenager of ~15.

I've been enjoying this site since I discovered it a couple weeks ago. The mix of fiddle tunes is a great fit for my interests and playing level. He is a talented young teacher.

His videos encourage to learn by ear and look at the notation or tabs if you get hung up on a piece.

    MandoLessons.com !!!

I'm a fan. He does a nice job of breaking down the phrases and then reassembling them in a way that gets the tunes stuck in my head. No need for tabs as he usually sings the finger positions for you. "Oh Two Five Four Three Oh Five". Ha!

Hi lesson list (http://www.mandolessons.com/lessons/all-lessons/) is usually open in my browser.

    Kudos Baron.

Wow, thank you for all the kind words everyone! As jefflester pointed out, I did indeed grow up (and continue to grow up) here on the Mandolin Cafe forums. This site is an incredible resource full of super friendly and knowledgable folks, and I don't know what I would have done without it. There wasn't much in the way of local instruction when I was getting started, and this site guided me down the right path. MandoLessons is my way of trying to give back to the community and allow folks that might not have the financial means or geographic luck to learn to play such a great instrument.

If anyone ever has suggestions, such as tunes they would like me to make lessons of (traditional only, no copyrighted material) or ways that I can make my lessons or website better, or clearer, or easier to learn from, I would love to hear about it. I can be contacted through the email address on my website.

    Thanks again!

another big thank you Baron for giving back to all of us.

i'm finding your offerings to be excellent in quality with regards to the visual, sound, and content. i also really like the way you play the song thru once then break it down and repeat(and sound out the finger positions) the sections over and over. like another reply mentioned, the repeating multiple times of small sections really help lock it in your mind quickly.

a song i would love to see you do is "cold frosty morn".

thanks again and i'm signing up as a paying patron

Another beginner here. I found your website over the summer. Ditto what everyone else has to say. Your talent as a teacher and the fact that you love what you are doing is quite evident. Thanks
