I think it's from around 1940, when benko first came to montreal. he was in Toronto in the fifties. thst looks like it's older both in style and condition. I have palyer a couple of benkos. As all, great mandolins. see the bemko article at the 12th fret.
The earliest F5 copy is a mandolin by Joe Wilson dated 1934.

Sorry, Martin... The earliest known F5 copy is a mandolin by Joe Wilson dated 1934. We still haven't found an earlier one yet.
