This falls under the "go big or go home" category. For my very first (and probably final) octave mando, I snagged a Trillium, made by Bob Abrams. I felt confident in the quality, based in large part on the recommendations here on the Cafe. So, anyway, I've only had it since Saturday, but I am loving it. It's got a fir top and oak back and sides--so slightly unusual--but beautiful and great sounding--materials. Here are a few pictures.
