Default CBOM's, GBOM's and OM's in the wild

I've been looking for a thread where I could put an interesting video,
picture, or article etc. without hijacking someone else's thread.
So here you go. Let's see what you find.

    I'll get it started.
I've spotted a few pictures that Mike Black has been teasing us with.

I spotted this model of Octave hanging on the wall in a picture of
Randy Wood's shop a while back. It really caught my interest.
Then recently I found this video.

Not really, if you've ever looked at the price of F-style Nugget mandolins. I don't see why an OM would be less expensive than what those go for.

Being a luthier myself, I just can't see anything with strings over 15 grand, unless your name ends with Benedetto or Monteleone.

Here's a picture of Cafe' member Bogle playing it at Wintergrass.
It was nice but I can think of a half dozen others I would prefer.
And have enough left over to spend next Winter in the Bahamas.

I played it at Wintergrass. It was very nice but that's way too much investment for me. I keep my OM's at sub $10K...

Here's a video from Declan Plummer.
He has recently started a webpage teaching and promoting the
Octave Mandolin played in the Irish style.
He also has a very nice section of theory.

So far he has one beginner video and one advanced.
I hope he continues. They are very interesting.

It was working fine when I loaded it.
Thanks for putting it up Eddie.
I had put up the advanced.

It looks like it was taken down from Youtube then uploaded again, so it has a different ID. This should be the right one:

Mike Black has posted photo's of his newest GBOM on the Mike Black Mandolin group.
What a beautiful instrument. I hope he gets some video or sound before he ships it.

I'm glad it worked. I haven't heard it for about four years.
That type of Mp3 just shows up as jibberish on my computer.
Several other Cafe' members have said the same.
    Is this an Apple thing?
By the way that is Mike Black playing #6.
It was brand new and the glue wasn't even dry.
    It has aged beautifully.
