    Default US Marine needs help with location of a BowlBack Mandolin Case

    I am in need of a case for a Suzuki BowlBack Mandolin I just purchased here in Okinawa, Japan. Transferring back to the US and need a case for the mandolin for travel.

    I keep my bowlback in a padded gig bag that was not really made for it, but does provide some protection. I would feel OK carrying the instrument in this bag on board, but not checking it. Good luck, thanks for your service, and welcome home.

    Does it have to be checked baggage and tough travel, or for light duty just to offer some protection?

    If all you need is light duty, then Amazon sells a cheap old-fashioned chipboard case that works well enough for light travel:

    Yes as Shown above ^^^ Eastman Makes a Bowl Back case in Fiberglass.. currently ,

    Japan made some , in wood, in the Past.

    maybe you can sort out the shipping.

    APO.. seems less useful than a physical street address, in town.

    Case located at a second hand store here on Okinawa. Great hard case for $10.00

    Used hard shell for $10? That's a score. I had to pay 25 'used' for mine back in the 70's.
