Default Behringer ADI21 equivalent w/level boost?

I play (drums actually) in a rock band, but once or twice a year we do an acoustic set and where I switch to mando and I'm looking to add a pickup to my Weber Bitterroot. I've tried micing with a couple of different mics without too much success (gain before feedback problems) since although acoustic we are still playing in a loud bar environment. Since we only do this infrequently I'm not looking to spend much money so my baseline plan is a JJB PPS-200 piezo and the Behringer ADI21, both low cost solutions that get generally positive reviews. But I sure would like to have a volume boost option for solos. Any preamp type pedal out there that features a level boost without a large jump in price?

Not as I know of. Not at lowish prices, anyway. Yes, once you get to Radial, etc.

Easiest option would be to stick with your plan, but add a clean 'boost' pedal in the chain.

How about a volume pedal? Play at 2/3 of full and them tweak it up a bit for solos.

I got the trusty Electro Harmonix linear power boost a few years back. Works fine, rugged, not too pricey.

Real cheap. Use a Dan Electro Fish and Chips EQ pedal with the gain boosted on the pedal. That way you can tailor the tone at the same time. I think they are $25. Doesn't get much cheaper than that.

I use a morley optical volume pedal which has a poti for the minimum volume. So I can press it fully down for solos and fully release it for comping without worrying to find that 2/3 position again. In addition it has a footswitch to disable the minimum volume and therefor allows muting.
