This belongs to a friend of mine and it is a very, very nice instrument. (No financial interest.) Not too many of SOS's instruments come up for sale.

I think it may be the second SOS instrument I had even seen for sale. Caught my eye (and heart) good when it came up. Roger - any chance this may be Chipper's?

Sweet. They had it marked "sold" earlier, but I see it's back up for sale. Wish I had the coin.

Brilliant instrument in my opinion. I've played it several times. Sellers are good friends but this is a no doubt on this one. I've played several SOS instruments over the years and get what the admiration for his work is all about.

No. This one was built for Chris Grotewohl in '98, I think. If you don't know Chris's music he is just about the only 5 string banjo player to master Irish traditional music using three finger technique. He has an excellent CD titled "Under the Influence." Great musician.

Yes. It went out on approval and came back. I know the prospective buyer who returned it and I think it was just a matter that it was not what he was looking for in a first instrument.
