It was a very enjoyable show. Livestreamed on Music City Roots and broadcast live on WUNC-TV in NC.

Yes. Watched on UNC-TV. Really enjoyed the multi-generational bands version of 'kitchen girl". They whooped it

As with an election, not all winners will satisfy everyone...Different tastes for different people...

The one that makes me laugh,is Becky Buller's award for ''emerging artist''. That lady not only emerged, but arrived flat out years ago. Her 2003 CD, ''Rest My Weary Feet'', is a superb demo.of her skills not only as a musician but as a song writer. Have these guys been asleep for 12 years or don't they know what's going on around them ?.
It still seems to me that the awards are going to the 'prominent' musicians, the ones we all know about & who 'made it' a long while back, but what about mandolin players such as Randy Jones / Jesse Smathers & Jeff Parker, all of whom have done terrific work with 'The Lonesome River Band'. Here's as sweet a piece of mandolin playing as i've ever heard by Randy Jones - that would get a nomination from me all by itself,

California fiddler Annie Staninec won one of the "Momentum Awards." Yes, a new name, and thankfully a breath of fresh air for IBMA winners....
