    Some of them requires speed -- that can be better achieved with a bow... --, none goes beyond 1st position.

    I'm playing some of these -- they are considerably more difficult than Playford's Dancing Master, but also more appealing as performance pieces as they do not require as much additional arranging to make then interesting.

    Here are some I have recorded a few years ago (mostly a bit on the slow side, to make the faster variations playable):
