    Default Line 6 MD20 Mixer

I am considering a digital mixer. Seen posts on Soundcraft, QSC, but has anybody used the new Line 6 MD20?

I use ours all the time... superb mixer. I use also SC, A&H, Behringer (their XR series are really good - nothing like some of their old analog stuff), and Presonus, and I still like the MD20 over any of them.

Yup, I'm a convert through and through. After years of being around analog desks it's a little disconcerting to see a little screen that you drop musicians and instruments on like a video game or something.....but things like being able to prepare a virtual stage plot ahead of time and tweak all the parameters. Then when you get on stage do an auto level on each voice and instrument and it works. It's magic seeming. I've not done a single mic setup on it, my bands can't seems to get comfortable with that setup. But for separate mic's, pickups, etc and once you've got everybody setup on the virtual stage it gives you the channel assign for each person it cuts down on the confusion. And it remembers the setup. It has replaced a lot of gear that when I did the last upgrade replaced a ton of rack gear. To have all the functionality in one little box is amazing.

I've not even got into the really cool stuff like being able to do a quick recording of the sound check and then send the band off and go out in front and tweak the system with the iPad or do a complete separate channel live recording. We never seem to have that kind of time. But it has sped up setup by 1/2 and has been consistent with improved sound quality. NFI although I wish I did.
