    Yup.I'm not sure if the pickguard is original but that is the equivalent of an A5G, bound front, unbound back.

    Just to update this thread for anyone doing research...

    When researching these mandolins, and eventually buying a 1994 Performer A, and a 1995 Gibson A-5G, I found these mandolins are not equivalent
    in build or sound. The performer a has parallel tone bars whereas the Gibson A-5G has an angled tonebar on the bass side. Also the Gibson A-5G has
    an elevated and extended fingerboard. My two mandolins with exact same strings and setup do not sound the same. The Gibson is more balanced and
    the flatiron has more mids. Is one better? Well, that depends what you're looking for. In my opinion neither is clearly better than the other.
