    I think this was made in the same factory that made the 1970's Alvarez mandolins. This looks like the A800, without the fancy fretboard inlay. Looks to be a carved top and back. 1970's Alvarez A800 usually go for $800+ so it isn't too far off price wise.

    This seller thinks his 78 Alvarez A800 is worth $1500. I think he'll not be selling it if his price stays there:

    I think their translator may have played a joke on them or maybe there wasn't one.
