Of course due to my searches, I now get pop ups from different online stores whenever I go to other sites, so it's a constant reminder.

I've wanted a Les Paul for all my adult life. But I have a perfectly fine Strat that I rarely play. My guitar playing is limited to my acoustic 99.999% of the time, so it makes no sense that I should spend over 2K on a Les Paul, but that doesn't stop me from wanting one.

    Not today, I tell myself.
    Tomorrow.

I want a heritage 535 and when I do I'll finally learn how to play

Just remember, in this discussion of rampant materialism, mandolins don't count!

Hey, I'm a material girl, living in a material world.

Yeah, I'll need one of those too, please.

It might be the contrast between low and high prices or that there are more good ones available. Example: I see a Kimble two point for $6.5K a few months ago then there are two for $4.5K also in excellent condition. Now there's a Hester mandola for $4.5K when the F5 is $8.5K and most builders have an up charge for mandolas. The market is wild right now, I don't doubt it will escalate so I would recommend using caution with it.

See, this is the kind of thing that disrupts my strategy. I've already got two nice mandolas, and just spent a large amount on another banjo, so I've been avoiding the classifieds. But then y'all have to go and mention something like this that tempts me to do something foolish. I don't really need another mandola, and I really shouldn't spend any more on instruments right now, but man... That Hester H5 is haunting me. Stop enabling my MAS, dang it!

Misery loves company, why shouldn't you suffer MAS when the rest of us are.
