Those have 1 dotted quarter note in each measure (3/8 time sig) . . . They could be played as tremolo doublestops, or some variation thereof . . . or simply plucked and left to ring out for three beats. Anyway, it'd be great to get some suggestions from more seasoned players on what to do with that.
I’ve played this piece many times and even performed it with Caterina Lichtenberg at a music camp. All the notation I’ve seen for this has it in 3/4 time with mostly eighth notes. The bars you’re mentioning are written as a three bar continuous trill. The second voice takes the melody during this part.
