I think the applause might partly be the audience's appreciation for Nancy being such a trooper. Right before the applause, at about 3:00, her strap falls off her shoulder right onto her right forearm and she just keeps playing the tune so beautifully. One of the best shows I ever saw was Nancy, Norman, and James Bryan (The Rising Fawn String Ensemble) at Ohio University in 1980. The tune is called Hangin’Dog off the “While Passing Along This Way” album. Great album BTW! I have been playing this tune for years. Good to see that I mostly got it right. Thanks for posting.

Her playing has always fascinated me. A beautiful blend of ability and taste. And yes, Natasha's Waltz is one of my most listened to CDs. As well as the Norman and Nancy Blake Compact Disc with has other tunes from the Rising Fawn days. Only saw them perform together a couple of times.

Anyway I bought the Norman Blake album years ago initially because I also loved the cover. When it was out on album I dont think it was called Natasha's waltz. It was "Undergoround Music from the mysterious south" or some name like that. Brilliant album.
