It's a nice time, I'll be there on Saturday night.
Only disappointment that I've felt there is the vendor
hall keeps getting smaller and smaller every year.
I rem Martin guitar company would go, some great
Mando luthiers that have stopped going. The music
Emporium was one vendor I'd always look forward to see what
surprise they were gonna bring us back from namm.

Also I rem when Chris Thile and how to grow a band featuring Bryan a Sutton first performed there.
The audience was brutal to them, I honestly couldn't believe it, some of the comments I heard were
just rude, and no need to shout it out so everyone could hear it.

My favorite part of the festival is just walking around, roaming the halls meeting and jamming with new people folks. You can really learn a lot.
You'll get to listen to, and jam with some incredible musicians.
there is something very wholesome about this particular festival.
Usually a storm hits and you all hunker down in this hotel with your
favorite musicians and musical instruments. I remember sitting there playing someone's Loar for at least an hr. Not at all a bad place to get stranded...

I'll be at Joe Val Saturday and Sunday. I'm teaching two fiddle workshops Saturday at 11AM and noon (Learn Orange Blossom Special and A Bluegrass Fiddler's Bag of Tricks). But I'll have a mando or two along for jamming as well.

In the (really) old days when Joe Val Fest was in the summer and outside, my Reiner Family Band used to host the "Family Stage". Back then the JV T-shirts would list just 6 or 7 bands.
