    Default Where's Wendy?

I just was listening to some of my favorite BG music and an early "Larry Sparks and the Lonesome Ramblers" cut came up that really took me back to a great time on a lousy day.
It made me wonder what Wendy Miller is doing these days? He was very generous with his time to a 16 year old kid and got me hoping that he is well and healthy. I will always remember is kindness.
I know Chris visits the site from time to time, best wishes to your father!

No, I didn't. Things are kind of strange around Kalamazoo this weekend.
Thanks for reminding me of an easy source!

Tim, I tried it and there seems to be hundreds of people named Wendy Miller...One site did list one as playing bluegrass in a band called "Country Grass" or "Grass Country" I forget which, but when I clicked on it it said I have to join something so i didn`t look any farther....You might still want to try it though...

I remember Wendy when he played with Sparks, a good picker....

There is no lack of information out there. I have no idea how much of it is current.

If you do a Google search for Wendy Miller and Country Grass you'll get lots of info, including their Facebook and MySpace pages.

He's been to a few of the festivals in Michigan the past several years. The last time I talked to him he was playing a great sounding Red Diamond.

Maybe Charlotte on Saturday, or maybe Rudyfest. I haven't decided just yet.

I was at the FIRST festival at Charlotte!
I went every year for a long, long, time then life and work got in the way! Now I'm not working and can't afford to go everywhere I used to and that is the weekend I do the "Early summer birthday thing for my wife's family and our grand children! Saturday is up the spout! Crap in a hat! Maybe I will make everything get it set up and leave...... The little ones would be crushed!
This was last Easter, we have some fun!

Yes, that would be grandpa! The funniest part is my brother had ordered something for me and there were two big boxes on the front porch one with what I was expecting(rotisserie set up for my Weber grill!) and the Easter bunny suit! I have NO clue who sent that, was it YOU?

I've been to everyone since 1976. I ran sound there for 18 years. I'm still doing sound for Hart, Marshall and Milan this year.

Then I'm pretty sure we have met!
I'm Tim from Great Lakes Grass!
I must be getting old, I think the first Charlotte was '73.
I am pretty sure it was '75 when Wendy showed me "Windy Chimes" in the "Lonesome Ramblers" bus!
The last time GLG played Marshall, I was out of town, I think Bill Halsey filled in for me.

The first time I seen Wendy he was playing with Mike Lilley, that was at Charlotte if I remember. I'm sure we have met somewhere along the line. I ran sound for R&L Express for a lot of years and played mandolin for the last couple years they played. I also ran sound for Detour for 6 years until I had a heart attack and had to quit traveling for awhile.
