    NiINE YEARS AGO, TODAY!

What ever happened to THIS band? They had a lot of potential as I recall.

And they apparently convinced Sarah Jarosz that NYC was a magical place that she'd move to one day... HERE.

I recall noticing Tim O'Brien in the audience. Any other Cafe regulars?

I think I'm the only one who thought that the joke was pretty funny. Then again, if I ever start a local band, I'm going to call in the Chesapeake Mountain Boys-- and I don't think anyone but me will find it all that funny.

I saw that configuration back in that same time period at Parish Hall at Miami University-Hamilton. Bryan Sutton was playing guitar in that ensemble. During the show they were jokingly refering to themselves as "The Tension's Mountain Boys". That was just after "How to Grow a Woman" had come out. It had to be early 2007.

I'll be seeing the Punch Brothers Sunday night in Cincinnati. It’s been that long since last I saw Chris Thile play.

...I went back and checked it was on 02/20/07 that I saw the Tension's Mountain Boys (soon to morph into the Punch Brothers) in Hamilton, Ohio.

It also happened to be Chris's birthday the day of the show. One of the band members gave him a bottle of scotch for his birthday while on stage...can't recall which one gifted him.
