Default Where to install the internal jack on a TC bouzouki

The strap pin on the TC bouzouki is pretty close to the top of the instrument so I am wondering if it might work better to drill the hole for the 1/4" jack under the tailpiece and more centered top to bottom. What would be the most popular way to do this?

I had a TC bouzouki some years ago and I faced the same dilemma. I had the pickup professionally installed and we decided to do exactly as you suggested: center the jack half way between top and bottom, under the tailpiece.

    Rob,

Thanks for the reply. It does seem to be a good alternative.

    Thanks again,

I would do it where the endpin is (and have). Id you go this route, you need to be careful of the bracing when you drill it out.

The reamer I normally use is too long and will hit.
