I received my new calton F5 case made from their mandola shell this week. I am very pleased with how it came out.

interesting... looks very protective. What color is the outer shell?

yes, for a few bucks more i got headstock room and peace of mind. i have to thank hans brentrup for inspiring this idea with his 3 pointer case as well as my good friend david (owner of said case), as well as mike at acousticguitar.net and al and the folks at calton for humoring me and doing such a great job. as soon as i get another 23v it will be going in one of these cases too.

That would solve the Calton problem of too little headstock room on their mando cases. I think they should make this their standard mando case.

    Thats very nice!!

It looks as if there is enough room that they could actually put a small compartment on the right shoulder side of the instrument....
