    Default Hard Case for Ovation

Does the Ovation Mandolin require a special hard case? For a college graduation present I bought my step son a used Ovation which is now about 15 years old. I have not seen it in a while as he is out of the country with his career.
We are down sizing from a house to an apartment and I have some extra hard cases I want to part with, though I would like to save one for his Ovation. I remember it being of an odd shape so I am wondering if any one out there has had experience fitting an Ovation to a case.

    Hi Bill,

The answer is yes. My US made Ovation is of the same vintage and came in a rectangular fitted case as pictured. The case is made by TKL of Canada. I tried to put the Ovation in my Hiscox case (which takes pretty much any mandolin usually) and the instrument is too deep. You might have to use a gig bag if you can't find an Ovation/TKL case.
