    Default My New Pava Pro

Pava Pro #197, purchased new from Seth Rippey in Lockhaven, Pa. Love it! Great setup as well as fit and finish. Sounds great. Wonderful round neck (don't like sharp V's). Beautiful blonde with ebony peghead overlay as well as ebony backstrap. Just a beautiful and easy playing instrument. Couldn't be happier! Thanks Seth.

Congrats, that's a beauty! I love blondes. I've had a blonde Arches for more than a decade. Heck, I've had a blonde wife for more than a decade, too, come to think of it.

    Enjoy your Pava.

Yep. The only mandolin I've found that plays as easy was an Ellis.

Congrats! can't tell - is the head stock bound on front?

Yes, Bound in Tortoise, that's why it's hard to see. Bound fingerboard and headstock.

Just want to mention how great Seth was to do business with. He's a one man shop and is incredibly knowledgeable about mandolins. Everything he described was right on and he's really fun to talk to. 5 star rating from me for sure!
He has two more Pava Pros listed in the Cafe classifieds. Here's the link:

    Congratulations rdodger99, it's a bonny thing !
I see what you mean about the tortoise bound headstock. Lovely touch.
I like the subtly aggressive headstock inlay.
    Enjoy !
    Refrets, I've had a few . . .

I have a Pava Pro #115 and love it. The neck profile works for me. Great workman, womanship . The mandolin has a complex tone very nice. Mine is a sunburst, the blonde is very pretty. Enjoy getting familiar with the mandolin. It will responded to your touch and produce the sound you want.

    That's a lovely looking mandolin!

It's hard to believe Pava is already at the 200 mark. I bought mine right at 3 years ago, numbered in the 30s. If my math is right, that means she's building over 50 of these per year, averaging about one a week. Plus still working on the Ellis line, as far as I know. She's staying busy!
