    BUMP.

    I've got the prelude from the first cello suite down but am struggling with the allemande. I'm finding bars 11, 12, 13 and 14 really difficult to get my fingers around. Part B looks pretty tricky too. I've moved on to the the courante (much easier) to give my brain a rest. Just had to say that.

    It sounds harsh and unmusical to me.
    I guess, compared to a well bowed stringed instrument, every plucked stringed instrument sounds kind of thin. One thing playing the mandolin taught me is the importance of a good picking technique and the choice of the right pick. To my ear, on the mando this is more important than on a guitar. I'm sure your experience with bowing will help you develop a good picking technique quite soon, but give it a little time.
