Mandolin and Guitar Stand combo
Hi
Always get good real life suggestions here on the forum. I did look at some old threads but
maybe there is some new stuff out there.
Any recommendations on a stand that can hold both a mandolin and a guitar?
Prefer small foot print and portability if possible.

I use a Hercules triple stand: https://www.amazon.com/Hercules-GS43.../dp/B000ARH3M6
It's not small, but it holds things securely.

Re: Mandolin and Guitar Stand combo
The most compact/portable solution for me has been adding a clamp-on violin holder like this String Swing to whatever guitar stand you like:

They also have a model for ukulele and mandolin without the bow holder knob, but that's new and I haven't tried one yet to see how it fits. You do need a guitar stand that's stable enough with the added weight of a mandolin on the side. I use a Hercules single guitar stand and it's just a wee bit tipsy to one side with just the mandolin on the stand when I'm playing guitar (or OM), but I just make sure the mandolin is facing me when I'm playing seated so it can't go anywhere.
The most stable arrangement is a twin guitar stand like the Hercules double, and you can pad the hooks with pipe insulation foam if it's too wide for a mandolin. But that's a larger and heavier arrangement than a String Swing clamped to single guitar stand.

Re: Mandolin and Guitar Stand combo
Perry,
I use the Hercules double stand, which works great for guitar (acoustic or electric) and mandolin. I did take some inert rubber hose cut to 1.5" or so, slit lengthwise and slipped over the rubber arms to better fit the narrower mandolin neck.
