    Default New Keith Newell Tailpiece

I just want to give a shout out to Keith Newell for his tailpieces. He posted 3 in the classifieds a while back (with $$ donated to the Café). I was too late to get one of those but he made one customized for me with a diamond like the inlay in my headstock. This tailpiece is awesome!! It looks great (in my opinion) and functions great. I wish there was a gold plated option for my other mandolin but that isn’t available right now.

I know there is debate as to whether a tailpiece change/upgrade affects the sound, but I swear my mandolin sounds better now. I am aware that it may likely just my perception and excitement. Anyway Mr. Newell makes a great solid tailpiece and I would suggest anyone needing or wanting an upgrade to consider one. I have no benefit in posting this other than showing off Mr. Newell's work.

I had a gold plated Tailpiece , the plating wears thin and off quickly.

Here's a Newell tailpiece, still firmly attached to a Newell mandolin. I do like both. Keith (Newell) tells me that the former owner was rather careless with whatever materials she was smoking. Hence the blemishes in finish.

Keith was a close friend of mind. I spoke to him the night that he passed. <Removed by Moderator. Please limit commerce to the Classifieds.>
