Default Gibson Sam Bush New Nut Width?

Anyone know why Gibson went to 1 1/16 from 1 3/16? I thought the wider nut was one of the hallmarks of the Bush design. Seems like the elements that set it apart in the first place are going away.

Shoot Dave Harvey a message on Facebook and I'm sure he'll be happy to explain...

Is the narrower nut simply an 'option' ?. Not all folk like wider nuts,so maybe Gibson have taken this fact on board as have other builders,
    Ivan
    Weber F-5 'Fern'.
    Lebeda F-5 "Special".
    Stelling Bellflower BANJO
    Tokai - 'Tele-alike'.
    Ellis DeLuxe "A" style.

I don't know if it's an option, or the other way around. I noticed 1 1/16 is listed on the Gibson website as the spec, which is what prompted me to ask.

Thanks for your replies. I had an early Bush with the speed neck, which they've also done away with.
