Cruisin' Timber is a tune composed by Dorsey and David Harvey. David has recorded it twice, on Larry Sparks' Silver Reflections (Rebel Records) and on the first Wild & Blue recording titled Too Blue To Cry (Vetco). The latter is truly hip, with an intro and outro that will knock your socks off. As an aside, the banjo man (excellent player) on TBTC has a current ad on the classifieds for a mandolin (NFI).

A cool version of CT is on yt, done by Joe Mullins and The Radio Ramblers, in front of a symphony orchestra. The referenced yt above has the fellows playing slightly different chords on the B part. They get on it, don't they?

They sure do! Thanks for the additional information. I look forward to looking up the other references to the song.

They do. That backing section fits so good it's freaky. Great tune. A touch of Lonesome Fiddle Blues in the A part. Got.to.learn.

Some great picking but it just goes to show where bluegrass is heading...AS I HAVE SAID BEFORE....If it sells, more power to them...

Picked up Billy Strings latest record "Renewal" today, wow I have to say Great Music! Really enjoying the song writing and excellent playing. I hadn't heard much about its release. They happened to be playing it when I walked into my local record store otherwise it might have passed me by. Glad I found it, what's your thoughts?
