My wife has just been playing her flute, and in the pauses we could hear the tenor hanging on the wall singing along. It was the little Osark - really a remarkably resonant wee creature. I brought up the Blueridge to fill the empty space, but the Osark is the bolder of the two. The Martin 6 string just modestly hums quietly in the background. This is one reason why my wife likes playing in the living room. Don't you find it's nice to have your musical instruments hanging about (at the risk of reducing string-life by dust)? They look good too.
I might add that here in Germany we are not subject to extremes of humidity, and our central heating is really not up to any temperature extemes... Where the guitars hang is out of direct sunlight, I keep large houseplants directly nearby with a porus stone mulch which holds moisture. Maybe that helps a little, too?
