Greek Bouzouki / First Adventure Into Music Tips?

Hello,

I am going to learn how to play the Greek bouzouki. Any tips or resources that will help read sheet music? I need to learn the basics of playing any instrument and would like to before I go to lessons.

I would recommend searching around on YouTube for some basic introductory videos. I came into Greek bouzouki with a fairly deep background in guitar, a lot of same general technique principles carry over. I have mainly been adapting guitar songs to bouzouki (tuning is very similar, just a step down and minus the two lowest pitch strings on a guitar), but have been learning some Greek tunes by ear as well. I haven't been able to find very many Greek bouzouki tabs, there is some sheet music though. Welcome to the forum!
