    Default Left Hand Grip

How do you hold yours? Naturally I seem to be using a similar grip to the mandolin, but I have been thinking that I should get the thumb more on the back of neck in a classical(ish) grip.

I have an Ashbury AT-14 http://www.promenademusic.co.uk/ashb...4-tenor-guitar, the nut is about 28mm and the neck is about 20mm deep there.

With a mandolin, I tend to anchor the palm of my hand to the back of the neck unless I need to move far up the fretboard. With a tenor guitar or banjo, because of the longer scale, this isn't really possible; for the most part, I just touch the neck with the space between my thumb and pointer finger. It's a very loose grip.
