Dang. I was just there last month. Looks like another trip down is in order now.
I want to heart it!
I talked with Tom and Christian last time I was down there. We were on the topic of X bracing for quite some time. From what I gathered, they hadn't built an x braced mandolin yet. But it appears they have changed that!
I would venture to assume this is the first of it's kind.
Austin, TX
Ellis A5
I very much doubt that Tom / Pava would have released this one into the wild unless it was at the very least equal to their standard builds. As with all Tom's mandolins, you can expect the build standard to be 100% !!. I'd love to drive that one for a few years - wow !!,

Weber F-5 'Fern'.
Lebeda F-5 "Special".
Stelling Bellflower BANJO
Tokai - 'Tele-alike'.
Ellis DeLuxe "A" style.
This one has tone bars like all of them. There are no Ellis f-hole mandolins with X bracing...yet
