    Default Worm Over Tuners

I just ordered a set of Grover F style 309 worm over tuners from Stewmac.

I put them on, but the tuners turn backwards. If I'm holding the mandolin normally, the bass side turns clockwise to tighten the strings, instead of counterclockwise.

The old tuners I took off were worm over, and they turned counterclockwise to tighten. When I researched and looked here, at the bottom of the article, it states:

" No matter which type of gears is on the mandolin, the buttons and posts should turn the same way. If they don't, something is wrong."

I called Stewmac, and was told that worm over turns opposite of worm under. And with the Grovers, that is correct, but it contradicts the article.

Bottom line, this drives me nuts. Are there other worm over tuners available that turn counterclockwise to tighten? If not, I think my only option is to have the headstock plugged and redrilled for worm over, or live with the old tuners.

There are Schaller and Gotoh and Rubner worm over tuners that turn the right way. I was under the impression that Grovers do as well but All parts has a reverse set listed.

I just did a quick search and all I'm seeing for Grover in worm over is the set that turns backwards. I'm surprised.

I expect they just Assembled the Parts, same ones, shuffling the locations
to sell you a worm over.. without bearing the actual expense
of machining a separate set of gears.

The Gear Cut on my Original Schaller gold F (genuine pearl) is the same//// ////
as that on my Schaller A tuners, worm over installation..

So when used, as done by the CZ builder, worm under, they turned 'backwards', CW..

2nd set I got, were cut the other way.. \\\\ \\\\ [SCH-MGP4R] so now, as worm under,
    those do work CCW..
