Thread: Martin F Serial Number Location?

Default Martin F Serial Number Location?

I just picketed up a Martin F 2-15 and I can not located the serial number. No internal label, wood burned CF Martin Nazareth PA I can see thru the f hole. Thoughts on nature of this instrument, craftsmanship, value etc very welcomed. I am a casual guitar play and found this in a Goodwill for $80. When I saw Martin I did not look twice.

Again, if it's a 2-15 it's not an F style. Where is that coming from? Does your mandolin look like this one?

See if the serial number's stamped into the headstock, back or end.

And please post some pictures. If you're looking for valuation we'll need to see it. Martin quality is normally very high so its value could be considerable compared to your $80 investment. Post as many pictures as you can, including the case, and you'll get some knowledgeable information.

We usually only dream about things like this.

For $80 you can put up with a bit of dirt!

Very nice indeed. Well worth getting put into full playing shape.
