Default Karaharapriya- Dorian scale(I think :D)

Hi Everyone!! It's been a really long time since I visited this wonderful forum. I am posting a recent practice video I played. The AV quality isn't all that great, as it's a very old handycam. But I hope you enjoy it.

Remarkable sounds you get with pick, left hand fingers, and right hand fingers. I'd like to know more about the tuning and scale you are using.

    Awesome playing Aravind.
I love what can be done on a mandolin in the context of Carnatic music.
I have always loved the playing of U. Srinivas.

I study classical Sitar in the Maihar Style, in the style of Pandit Nikhil Banerjee in particular.
Carnatic music is so different from Hindustani music, but I really like to listen to it.
    Love to hear more.

Thank you sir. really nice to hear from you. My tuning is CGCGC. As for the scale it's apparently our equivalent of the western dorian scale. The note placements are more or less the same. I guess our treatment of the scale or 'raga' is different. Please let me know if you need any specific info.
    Best regards,
    Aravind

Thank you sir. Guruji Shrinivas sir's music is ethereal.
It's so nice to know you play the Sitar. Pt. Nikhil ji remains to be an iconic inspiration for all indian string instrumentalists.
I will definitely post more of my music. Please do keep listening and sharing your feedback
    Best regards,
    Aravind

    Nice work Aravind!

I see six tuning pegs. Do you omit a string?
