Another thought about the top end market, how many are sitting on the walls of top end music stores, or just sitting in private collections? I'll bet 2/3's of the total isn't being used at present

Not to hijack the thread, but my fern has a narrow nut and I love it. I have played a Bush model with the wider nut and for me there is too much space between the strings. I guess people with larger hands would prefer the wider nut. My neck has about the same profile as a fiddle. Do they make fiddles with wider necks? So many questions....carry on..
I'm a narrow nut guy myself.
No comments please.
No matter where I go, there I am...Unless I'm running a little late.
Shaun, your memory is good, here is the price listed in the DMM press release.
The Distressed F-5 Master Model comes with two cases: a 1920s-style rectangular deluxe hardshell case and a heavy duty Calton case. Production is limited to one instrument every other month. The MSRP is $19,700.

That is my Derrington DMM in the Press Release Photos. In addition to the serial number it has the markings "#1 Distressed" on the label. When these photos were taken it still had the original Master Model serial number V-xxxxx and date before becoming a DMM with serial number D-xxxxx after the distressing process. It is a great sounding and looking instrument.
