    I need intervention.

I just sent a deposit to Dale Ludewig for a new F5.

And...you thought you spent too much for the DVD's you bought from me.

I know you'll update us on the new axe when it arrives.

    Many, many congratulations!

You're living large, Mark. And as I've said before, we all are living vicariously through you. Way to go. I've lusted after Dale's mandolins for quite some time.

    Dude!
I'm not sure "sick" is the right word. "Looney" would be better.

So, is this mandolin going to have a zero fret?

I'm an addictions counselor. Maybe I can get enough out of Mark to finance my own upgrade!

Go Mark! I'm vicariously enjoying your MAS. But even though Mark has made several well publicized purchases lately, I believe his total mando count is still well short of some Cafe members who had a bunch of mandos before the Cafe started. Not naming any names, you know who you are. #

Hey, thanks for the support (and sarcasm <g&gt. Everyone should have a strong support system (so they tell me).

Dan -- no zero fret. Not on an F5. No sir.

Gary -- forget it: I don't have anything left to take. You'll have to finance your upgrade some other way.

Chip -- I haven't overcome the learning curve yet. Stay tuned.

Karen -- My wife is very happy...and completely in the dark. <g> (And I always win...well, sometimes.)

Mike -- I don't know how many I have (I forget). But I think Jim is right...it's not really that many compared to SOME of you.

And Moose...what can I say? If you and me ran the world, everyone would be happy!

I'm stopping on the way home tonight to pick up a nice bottle of single malt...maybe an Oban, to toast this fine place. I wouldn't have this sickness if it weren't for Scott. And to quote an old movie, "I don't want to get well!"

I understand Mark's predeliction perfectly as I have known many victims. I can tell you that he is in the early stages where an intervention might do some good...but after that..when he discovers that by raking those little stringie things, a beautiful sound comes out...it's all over.

Mr. J. Mark Lane, when it comes to our sickness,
I could tell you stories that would bring tears to
your eyes ! Reckon there's ever a chance of getting
    over this malady ?

OK, somebody that's within driving distance of Mark's warehouse needs to plan a day trip to do a mandolin tasting/photo-thread soon. I say "warehouse" because Mark's wife is apparently unaware of the growing herd, so they must not be stashed at his house.

Mark, you'd better watch out! Spending all that time at the "warehouse" and the dwindling bank account.... Mrs. Lane may start to jump to wrong conclusions!

Seriously though, congrats on the Ludewig in the wings! I'm sure it will be a great addition to the collection. Also, a big thank you from the rest of us to you for going above and beyond in keeping the "mandolin bubble" from bursting!

Hey, that's a good idea! #We spend Mark's money for him and he keeps the results! #It's a win for us, Mark, and the luthiers!

So let's see... #I want a Brentrup 23 with a tobacco burst, tortise plastic binding (w/white-black purfling) and a red spruce top.

Hey, I really do have a wife, I swear. She's cute, too. I'd post a picture, but I'd get arrested.

Jim Pullen -- I haven't seen you post here much. Nice to see your name. How's things in Ten-a-see? I'd sure like to hear those stories that would bring tears to my eyes. Tears of laughter and joy, I'd bet.

And yeah, lucky, those are two makes I'd really love to get ahold of....Those and about a dozen others....

And yeah, guys, I'm still on Don Paine's list. I don't know what "number" I am, but I think he was going to start my F4 maybe next month.

All these fine instruments...and I still can't play worth a darn. Money can't buy me love...or talent. Well...maybe love.
