Thread: Gibson mandocello replacement bridge

    Default Gibson mandocello replacement bridge

Excuse me if there's already a thread for this, but can anyone recommend a good bridge replacement for a 1911 Gibson K2? I'm guessing what I need is an adjustable archtop guitar bridge that hasn't been slotted for (six) strings yet, but not really finding one of those anywhere.

One thing you can do is buy a rosewood or ebony arch top guitar bridge -- then sand out the notches. Carve a thin strip of bone to glue on top of the saddle and cut your mandocello notches. That is what I did no the Gibson mandocello I made from an L-50 guitar. Produces great tone IMO and it looks good.
