    Default Embergher repair

I have an embergher 5bis in for adjustment. There is some fret buzz in the upper register. I noticed that the top part of the fingerboard is not glued down onto the soundboard, does anyone know if it is meant to be like this? If not, I wonder if this could be adding to the problem? Any advice please? Thank you, JamesClick image for larger version.

I can't comment on Emberghers, but most other mandolins of that era have the extension glued to the top. Can you detect any old Hide Glue in the gap?
