Default Unique Instruments by Stadivarius (devoid of mandolin content)

Some interesting fancy instruments made by the master and for some reason stored in Spain - probably made for a king or royalty.

Author makes a good argument for keeping some of these fine ancient instruments in a museum behind glass and out of "destructive human hands" Like those bearing fire pokers for example?

It is important to keep originals for research purposes, after all we can always copy them & make a few new ones to play out & about.

The instrument posted by Beanzy looks like the "choral mandolino" at the musical instrument museum in Vermillion, South Dakota. They also have a guitar built by Stradivarius. The whole museum is incredible, one of the best in the world. They have quite a few old Gibson mandolins, mandolas and mandocellos, even a mandobass. They are pictured on their website, but not all are on display.

The "mandolino" is one of only two known, and the guitar is one of three (possibly four?) known, so the collection together with the Strad violin family instruments is unique. The museum also has a fabulous "modern" (20th century Martin, Gibson, D'Angelico, etc.) guitar collection in a separate gallery built around D'Angelico's workshop, which I believe came from the family. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the neighborhood.
    Too many instruments...too little time
