RIP Mel. I was solidly into rock and roll when you were at your peak in the 70's, but over the years I came to admire you more and more. Especially how you had the courage to get on stage, despite your stutter. Most of us would have run the first time the audience laughed and never gone back. Maybe we would have spent the rest of our life thinking "what if?" But you had the courage and the conviction of your talent to keep trying, and the world is left with your legacy of songs.
