    Default Fletcher Bright

It is with great sadness that I report the passing of my friend and colleague Fletcher Bright, after a long illness.

Fletcher was 86 years old, and was known not only as a performing musician, but also as a teacher, collector of music, and an active supporter of the arts.

    He will be sorely missed.

Sad to hear. I have several of his recordings after hearing about him from Sam Currin who played mandolin for Fletcher. Always enjoyed his arrangements.

I first heard him teaching at Kaufmann Kamp a few years ago. He was a remarkable fiddler.

Here's a nice recent video of Fletcher Bright in good company, with Norman Blake and friends. A full set of great songs and tunes.
