    Very nice Lawrence!
I have Don’s Soundslice class as well and have learned a ton from it.
The only difference I noticed on his versus the progression posted in this thread was that Don hit an Abm after the Ab. Great stuff!

Wonderful examples of this beautiful tune. Hopefully, I'll humbly submit mine this weekend...I know, a little late. My mandolin has been in the shop and just got it back. Thanks for all who contribute.

Wow! Eva Scow, Isaac Eicher, what extraordinary musicians!
Music washes away from the soul the dust of every-day life. Auerbach.
The rejection of 'the others' is a tragedy of the human being; If it comes from emigrants, an added horror!

I'm a bit surprised by the discussion on keys. I grew up with sheet music -- cheaper than records, also as a beginner I didn't trust my ears enough. Eb may very well be the most frequent of all keys in sheet music. According to my nephew, who plays several instruments, it sits particularly well on piano. The best known Eb song in my repertoire would be The Shrine of St Cecilia (actually a Swedish WWII song, originally titled Min soldat (My Soldier)).

At my advanced age my playing ability is rapidly diminishing; besides I never really was a jazz musician, although I've improvised a lot over the years.

So I offer a contrafact instead. It came about when I was trying to work up an arrangement for Only You, because I liked the changes (which are almost the same as for There Will Never...) Realizing that that would involve lot of tedious tremolo I decided to write a tune based on the same changes instead: Only You -- Uniquely Determined (a standard phrase in math) -- Determination.
