It ain't gotta be perfect, as long as it's perfect enough!
Old Blue by J.J. Cale
I think, therefore, I pick.
Might be a little late but my favorite dog song... first heard it around the time we had to put to old friend to sleep. Sung by one of my favorite local bands, unfortunately not longer together.

Mr. Bojangles has a verse which glorifies the dog as his foremost companion and is lost at 15 yrs. old later in the story. He then grieves the dog for 20 years. I was new to the mandolin when I recorded this one.

Tyler Childers has a new album and its title track is "Can I Take My Hounds to Heaven?". It could pretty easily be arranged for a string band.

Robert Johnson's mother, describing blues musicians:
"I never did have no trouble with him until he got big enough to be round with bigger boys and off from home. Then he used to follow all these harp blowers, mandoleen (sic) and guitar players."

This thread may never die
I hope almeirastrings is doing well. I havenīt noticed a contribution for quite a while. He was allways informative and quite the expert on some topics (Cites, and knowlegeable on other topics like recording and amping instruments/vocals).
The thread is four years old. I would still like to know the setlist. I played some gigs where I had to come up with songs that were theme oriented. It took me some time to find the apropriate song. So... what was the setlist and how did the gig go?
