    Some interesting reading on the history of music in Boston, highlighting the contributions of Oliver Ditson (only natural, since the book was a product of the Ditson Company, now available for free on google books). The info. get very compelling starting on p. 70 or so, when we learn that Ditson funded Lyon and Healey in Chicago and also bought up venerable Firth, Son & Co. to establish a big operation in NYC. https://books.googleusercontent.com/...LBVbffsz0RWFFQ
