I recently purchased a Kentucky a style didn't cost much $128 , it plays great and sounds great, but the label looks like 240s but I have looked for info on that model and can't find much. And info would be nice, thanks

The only thing I can ad is that in the early days of the Kentucky brand they used to bring in the same model number in two different versions. One with a laminated top and the other with a solid top. The S would be added to the model number for the solid top model. With that said, I'm not seeing anything other than this thread when I search. It might have been the only one they brought in.

    Try KM-250S.

Should be all solid. For some reason, Kentucky has used the "S" to designate solid tops and all solid, depending on the years.

It does look like the 250s I owned in the late 80's. The label is pretty messed up.

Assume the t is a 5 and you should find similar mandolins

That one makes the Gibson hand written numbers look stellar.

To my eyes, it looks like someone tried to write using the Latin/English alphabet, when they were used to writing in some other eastern script . . . which could make sense, since the instruments are made in the far east . . . .

Well I like it better thinking it is a 250 funny thing tho when I looked up the 250s , they were calling the wine colored one a 254, but I'm very happy with the mandolin and it's tone

The KM-254 is a relatively new model (10 years). In the past, KM-250S mandolins were that same color.

Your mandolin matches the older KM-250S perfectly. Great score!
