    Default Baez Imitates Dylan

In this 1972 clip from the film, The Complete Earl Scruggs Story, Joan Baez breaks into a funny imitation of Bob while singing It Ain't Me, Babe (at about 1:16)

The guitarist is a 16-year-old Randy Scruggs. The film includes interviews by Bill Monroe, Doc Watson, Charlie Daniels, The Byrds, and others. I haven't seen the film yet, it's on my short list.

Sad news, Randy has passed away last Tuesday of an illness, at 64 years of age. I had no idea when I posted this clip this morning. Randy backs Joan on guitar in her living room.

I saw this on TV decades ago. I believe to was a PBS documentary, Earl Scruggs & family... or something. I still have the vinyl soundtrack that I dubbed to CD years ago. Some good things on it, Byrds, Baez, & couple with Doc.
As for Baez doing her Dylan bit, I saw her in concert a couple of years ago & while singing some Dylan song did her imitation for a couple lines at the end. It still got some laughs after all these years.
    RIP Randy.
