Default Kaufman Kamp 2018--Going? Need Advice?

Kaufman Kamp is coming up on June 17th. Who's coming?

Newbies--need advice on what to bring, what to do? Ask here!

I've been playing in a Mandolin Orchestra this last year so I'll bring music from that for our classical jams. Let me know if you want in on those.

This will be Year 9 for me--can't wait to get there and see everybody!

I'll be there; maybe 7th time. No classical jamming for me though, thank you.
Hoping that the weather will be nice.

Year 13 for me. Actually taking fiddle this year. But will probably be playing mando every other moment of the day. It breaks my heart not to be taking mando classes with some of my favorite teachers...but it was time to break out the fiddle.

Guy - can't wait to see you again. You're taking mando? Awesome. Welcome to the cool table!

Fiddle??? No!!! Except I'm jealous you get to hang out with Amy Staninec and Becky Buller!

Guy--sign up for advanced. You can do it! Brad and I will be in one of them.

And, with any luck, I'm bringing a new instrument with me. But it's not a mandolin. I'm too ashamed of what it is to tell...

I’ll be there. My first time.
I grew up in Knoxville, just minutes away. Was in the Bearden high school marching band - and we would go to summer band camp at Maryville College. Now, 40+ years later, I’m returning. The circle is unbroken in a sense.
Looking forward to the experience. Excited, little intimidated being a beginner.

Home from Kamp. One of the best ever as far as I judge.
Great teaching of very useful techniques and such. (Made myself a new daily practice list this morning.)

Absolutely great faculty, and special 'thanks' to Mr. Jordan Ramsey, a sometimes poster here. (Best cross-picking technique I've ever seen!!!)

Got to meet, chat, and/or pick with most of the Cafe posters above.
    A good year for sure!
    Phil
